League Sign Ups

BoTN is now taking applications for next seasons leagues. All pm's to last seasons league members have been sent and anyone wishing to retain their spot should of replied.

If any new member wishes to apply for a place for next season then now is the time to do so. Also this is the opportunity for current league members to apply for extra leagues. League spots will be given out to the most active members
first, until all spots are filled. Team allocation will then be sorted
and leagues will kickoff.

Anyone who finds themselves without a league (hopefully noone), will have to wait for a spot to crop up.

All things being good, the leagues will kick off First week of May.

We
will be running, as usual, the Euro leagues (1 division x 14 players),
Galactico Leagues (1 x 12), International Leagues (1 x 10),Simulation leagues (2 x 20) and due to demand we will be bringing back the PES6 League(1x10), division numbers are subject to change and
individual league rules can be found at the bottom of this article. All
leagues will see fixtures released every 4-6 days. By taking part in a
league, you will also be expected to play in the league cups. Anyone
signing up for a league and then not playing WILL be warned and removed
from the league. Persistent offenders will be removed from site.

There are currently no vacancies in UCL

League types:

Euro Leagues:
1 divisions of 14 players. Only club teams can be used and teams will
be seeded on a site rank basis. The bottom ranked player in each
division will have first pick of team, followed by the next lowest,
until the top ranked player has picked his/her team. Fixtures released
every 5 days.

Galactico Leagues: 1 divisions of 12 players. Only club teams allowed. Any team for any match. Fixtures released every 6 days.

International Leagues:
1 divisions of 10 players: Only International teams. Teams to be
decided. Teams will be seeded on a site rank basis. The bottom ranked
player in
each division will have first pick of team, followed by the next
lowest, until the top ranked player has picked his/her team. Fixtures released every 6 days.

Simulation Leagues:
2 divisions of 20 players. Using clubs only from the relevant real
world leagues. Teams will be decided from last seasons finishing table.
Ie, person finishing 1st will take the team finishing 20th. Person
finishing 2nd will take the team finishing 19th. Any newcomers to the
league will be ordered by site rank, with the lowest ranked newcomer
taking the highest placed free team. Fixtures released every 4 days.

PES6 League: 1 division of 10 players. Due to huge demand, this league has been brought back for this season. Only club teams can be used and teams will
be seeded on a site rank basis. The bottom ranked player in each
division will have first pick of team, followed by the next lowest,
until the top ranked player has picked his/her team. Fixtures released
every 5 days.

Again
we will be following BoTN's strict guidelines when allocating league
spots. Members not being able to take part in more league than they
have completed seasons, this ensures that members do not take on more
leagues than they can handle, basically, the longer you stick with us
and the less hassle you cause, the more leagues you will have the
chance to play in. This may mean a few people will not be able to take
part in all the leagues they wish to but we installed this for the good
of the site and hopefully for the good of you.

The Kudos Cup is coming to BoTN

Within the next week BoTN will be launching a brand new cup competition called the Kudos Cup.

Based on our very own Kudos rankings, the competition will have a unique angle

in that players will be handicapped pending on where they are in the Kudos Table. Handicaps will be given to the lower ranked kudos player of the two members who meet in each round ie: for every certain amount of kudos between the 2 players 1 extra goal will be given to the lowest ranked player. Final details of the handicap system will provided on the sign up thread in the forums.

This is a real chance for some of our lower ranked kudos players to prove their worth against the big guns. It also gives our greedy kudos members at the top of the table to see if they can turn around the handicap given against them. The whole cup is designed to create a even playing field based solely on the Kudos Rankings.

So if you ever thought that if you had that 3 goal start against Whitey9 Scouser you would turn him over then now is your chance.

Finally MasterMaharishi has donated 2100 Microsoft Points to be given away to the winner of the competition.

The Blue King of the Kings

After weeks of domination and some spectacular football, aaronc333 has finally beaten Wellsnappas long standing Blue KOTH Record of 8 wins. Mr. Aaron has fought hard in all his games and his ambitions to become the Blue King of the Kings was put a series risk especially against Ross H 2008 against who he was down 3-0 after the first 15min and also against DeadlySaint who was so close to taking the crown but aaronc managed to equalise in the last minute and win the game in the Extra Time.

Aaronc will try now to improve his record of 9 wins and as he stated: "Whitey maybe call himself the Pound 4 Pound #1 but im the King of the Kings! Im much better than him and theres no discussion! I will stay King for a long time."

New Server and Shoutbox

Just to update all you guys; the new server has been ordered and the transfer will take place, hopefully, sometime in the next 24 hours, at which point the site may be down or act a little funny.

After the new server is live we will restore the shoutbox! Winner!

I know maybe others have come across it but I'm new to all this and thought it may be handy for some moves. It gives instructions using PS3 Controls but please find Below the Corresponding Xbox Controls if you dont know them

Diving - try to be far away from the ref as possible (it has to be timed perfectly otherwise you will get a booked)

Which is good considering Tomski is now 30 years old! Thats Three Zero.. THIRTY!! Congrats bud!!

Actually he is not, he is a year or two shy off the magical number, but still I'd like to think he'd swear at me a little over this! Anyway happy birthday to the irish bastard we love u.

Its All About Maradona

Over the last few weeks BoTN has been running its first Sensible Soccer Tournament. 13 members have battled it out to try and become the first ever winner of the SWOS Cup.

Teams were drawn at random and members were divided into 2 groups with the top 4 in each qualifying for the knockout stage. With all members going into the unknown, nobody had a clue of who was favorite and who to fear the most.

With the group stages drawn to a close FuzzyMinge and Darth Carp both topped their respective groups but not to be ruled out was the unbeaten Maradona86 with Arsenal and the impressive thxaj23 with Man United.

As we moved in the knockout phase FuzzyMinge beat Dazzerrazzer's Newcastle United, whilst the ever improving Emotional Worm condemned thxaj23 to his first defeat of the tournament. In the other half of the draw Darth Carp asserted his authority by beating Happyowl's Real Madrid 8-1 over 2 legs whilst unbeaten Maradona86 made light work of whitey9 scousers Bayern Munich.

Tension now grew as semi finals got under way with Emotional Worm who by now was beginning to show his worth battered FuzzyMinge 6-2 to claim a place in the final. The other semi final was a rematch of group 2 toppers Maradona86 and Darth Carp. Darth, fearing the worse before hand after being beaten 5-1 and 4-1 in the groups, put up a brave fight but by now the shear class of Maradona86 was showing. Maradona winning 7-3.

And so BoTN first SWOS final took place with Maradona86 with Arsenal and Emotional Worm with AC Milan. Both on fine form and looking to win the first SWOS cup.

Neither player disappointed, both winning a leg each in the final. Emotional Worm took the first 5-4 with Maradona taking the second leg 4-3. So it was decided by a tense play-off in which Maradona86 ran out comfortably with a 3-0.

Congratulations go to Maradona86 for his fantastic win and congratulations to all who took part and made it very enjoyable and a huge success.

The season kicks off NOW!!

Today sees the first set of fixtures for all leagues (exc. Sim & UCL)

To view your league, go to 'my profile' and scroll down until you see

'current events', this will tell you exactly what league/s you are in.

If you are not currently in a league but would like to be, keep active,

play rankups, get involved in all aspects of the site and you will be

notified once we have a vacancy

To view your league fixtures, go to the league table and click 'view

fixtures'. You will see the first set of fixtures for that league. You

will also see a red arrange link, you MUST use this link to arrange the

games. When arranging, please ensure you leave your opponent some times

that you are free. Leaving posts of 'when you free' and 'Im free all

the time' do not help get matches arranged

All fixtures consist of two matches (home and away). Games should be 10

mins with no extra time or pens. You MUST log out of this site and

anything else that may slow/lag your connection!! Each player should

then come back to site asap and submit/confirm the results

Fixtures will be released every 5 days (4 days for the Sim leagues) and you will receive a pm notification each time

a new one has been released. If you haven't played the previous fixture

by the time the new one is out, you will be chased by your division

admin. Fall too far behind and you will be warned/replaced. Check the

league table to see who your division admin is, any problems contact

them. Any member needed a holiday extension you MUST contact your admin or you may find yourself removed due to lack of games played.

BOTN Times Postponed

Hey guys unfortunately due to lack of personnel and time we are going to postpone the 3rd Edition of the the BOTN Times. The latest edition was about to be released on the 10th February but will be released on the 17th February instead.

There will be changes also for the upcoming editions which wont be released anymore every 2 weeks but every 3 weeks. Hope that by having more time we will be able to offer you a better quality newspaper and that more people will contribute!
