Most of you know what the rankup cup is all about, introduced some time ago by a our very own member Grafight. Wizzyfox has now taken over Grafight's boots and is running the show of Tournament Co-ordinator.

For those of you who dont know, heres a brief idea on what the Rank Up Cup is all about:

The concept is really simple and straight forward. We have a reserve league on our site. This league actually collates all the "Rank Ups" played by any and every member on the site and puts them in the table format (use the link above to view).ie the more rankups you have played, the higher up the table you will be.

Wizzyfox then looks at the top 16 players in that Rankup list and puts them in a Knock-out tournament. Teams are pre selected by either the winner of the previous rankup cup or admins choice. And the winner receives a profile award (nice shiny trophy). Plus the fact that they have all been playing rankups, it shows that they are active on the site which in turn helps them get into a league spot quicker than anyone else (unless they already are in one)

So, June 2009 Rankup Cup..... The Participants were as follows:

Big Thank you to all of them for continouos activity in playing games and managing to get into this tourney.

So into the knockout stages they all went..... The teams were to be as follows:
Round: Home Team v Away Team

Round 1: Germany v  England

Round 2: Scotland v Rep of Ireland

Semi-Finals: Argentina v Brazil

Final: Croatia v Czech Republic

And so the battle continued, and the favourites were expected to dominate this tourney all the way.

As with any and every sport game circumstances can change the outcome! and so it went for Truplaya86 who was supposed to showdown against Samba.... Unfortunatley (or fortunately for truplaya) Samba was unable to participate and the game went in favour of truplaya86.
As expected he took full advantage of this blessings from the pitch gods and walked and steam rolled past his opponents with utmost confidence of a cup to add to his cabinet....
On the other end of the stages, it seemed that there were a few as favourites to go through... amongst the likes of HendonKaz, Jonboyo, Hunteraldo...... but the cream of the crop turned out to be Wizzyfox himself!  Showing what he was made of especially in the Semi Final against Hunteraldo winning with a convincing 6-3 whalloping! was this a message for truplaya86 who was now in the final and knew he was about to face Wizzyfox?

And so it came to the day of the final.........
