The Race Pro Tournament concluded on the 19/06/2009 and my waht a tournament its been. There was abit of a mis understanding at the begining where alot of people thought that the tournament was to be played using the game Race Pro. However all that was clarified and it was mentioned that the game Race Pro itself was the prize to be won. The Developers of the game
"Sim Bin"were kind enough to sponsor this tourney by supplying Back Of The Net with a copy of the game to be given to the winner.
It started off with 32 members who signed up eager to get the tournament under way. The Group stages were all set...... If you would like to see who was in the group stages go to the
Tournament Archive Files and scroll down to "Other Leagues".
So, after a tough battle between the players the group stages were completed with the following getting through to the Knock-Out Stages of the tournament.
This was going to be one tense knock-out competition. Everyone knew that there was a new game to be won! (Lets face it, who would say no to getting a free game?)..... So back on topic....

Some great games were played....some really tight.....some very one sided. 6-3, 6-1, 5-2 were just a few good scoring games... and there were a few 1-0 victories as well......Most of the usual suspects above were really expected to get through quite easily.... however no one expected what was about to hit them!
The FINAL was set...... 2 players.......2 Teams...... 1 Winner..... 1 Game to be won as a prize.
duffnufc vs SAMMYMCFCYes, thats right Folks....duffnufc was in the final against Sammy....
This was expected to be a walk over..... Sammy was the clear favourite to win....However duff made it extremely difficult for him.
An extremely tight game which ended 4-3 to....................................

DUFFNUFC!!!!Amazing....A player who has been seen on here for a while now but hardly been a contender for any tournaments had taken the prize!!
Many Many Congratulations to Duff and Comiserations to Sammy.....
We caught up with the both of them after the game and this is what they had to say.....
SAMMYMCFC: All credit to the fella....he played a great game and he played a tight game too...thats why it ended the way it did...Yeh sure im gutted that i didnt win however thats footy for you. It can go either way. Congratulations.
duffnufc: Wheres my microphone? Oh well..... Firstly i'd like to say thankyou to my pet chimp for supporting me throughout the tournament... (Chuckle) Just joking....What can i say.....Thanks....been a great tournament and have really enjoyed it..... I think i have recently improved quite alot with my performance on Fifa and really enjoying myself while playing the game. Suppose thats what helped really....Thank you Backofthenet & Thank you Sim Bin.
Well there you have it.... Duffnufc wins the Race Pro Tournament and takes away the game as a prize.

Thanks very much fella. The chimp isn't available to comment right now as he's catching up on some sleep after a crazy saturday at oasis and the prodigy!! Anyway commiserations to sammy. He was 3-1 up and i'd basically conceded defeat but kept at it and got a quick goal back which set me up for a grandstand finish. I guess this is a culmination of a lot of games and a lot of improvements in my game and i'm delighted to have finally won a tournament on here. Thanks again to the admins for putting this one together. To sammy for being gracious in defeat and to kid for... Hopefully... Sending out the game to me!! ANYWAY
